Marie Bahler was born on August 16, 1834, in Switzerland. She married Henri Ernst Ducommun in about 1855 and they had nine children. It is believed that all of the children were born in Neuchatel.
In 1882 three of her children emigrated to the United States, two sons and her daughter Ida Mae Ducommun.
The remainder of the family followed to the United States in 1887. They arrived in NY and proceeded to settle in Iowa in 1891. Visted the Myers family in Canada in xxxx. Became a US citizen in 1886. In Cherokee, IA for 1900 US census and 1915 IA census. Son Emile living nearby in IA in 1900.
Marie died on April 6, 1910 in Cherokee, Iowa at 75 years old.
